Gallery ~ Museum Work
During my years with the New Mexico Museum of Space History, I worked as the on-staff graphic designer, serving within the Exhibits Department (assisted with visual brand-development and developed graphic design/layout of large-format panels); and also worked in tandem with the Marketing Department (provided branded materials for various gallery-openings, events, advertising materials, museum collateral, publications, etc.) Museum-work was a fantastic adventure!

Hand-drawn logo (intentionally sketchy style) & branding for an on-loan exhibit which had no cohesive brand... so I created one. Humorous exhibit about how folks of times-past envisioned the future. Promotional poster with funny poem; bookmark; art contest certificate (for grade schoolers); & large intro panel for exhibit.
Foundation's event to celebrate the opening of the museum's new SpaceShipOne Exhibit: invitation with foiled sticker; commemorative silver-toned coin, for which I designed the stamped graphic, featuring the Museum's iconic building (stamped coins actually flew in space); and large exhibit intro panel.
Signage and exhibit panels for various museum galleries.
Signage and exhibit panels for various museum galleries. (Upper panel was displayed beneath a giant window overlooking the geographic basin; lower panel was the "standard" developed for all artifact-panels throughout the museum.)
An assortment of collateral developed for the "Fire Dragons" meteorite exhibit, with my own firey dragon image: poster, bookmark, postcard, and large footprints to be printed & affixed to the floor (leading folks to the new exhibit.)
Exhibit panels in support of the Fire Dragons meteorite exhibit; including large wall-mounted panel, panel to hold meteorite sample, and a poster geared toward children.
Materials for "Pupniks" exhibit (about the historical dog-based Russian space program): exhibit panel (mural-sized), promotional posters, and a multi-piece invitation for the gallery opening (set up like a secret dossier, complete with transparent "film" showing frames from an actual spaceflight of a Russian dog.)
Materials in support of two big public events: including poster, "passport" for children, t-shirt design (metallic copper ink), admission ticket, and two metal cloisonne lapel-pins.
Various materials for the museum's yearly summertime Shuttle Camp, for school-age children: cloisonne pins, trifold brochures, and poster (with a different look for each year's camp.)
Posters to promote events at the museum.
Various materials in support of a special event at the museum's IMAX theatre.... "Western Mardi Gras" offered a unique challenge to combine "old west" themes with space. Shown here are a giant "painting" for the "saloon" (historical sassy saloon poster, modified with museum-logoed hat & silk sash for modesty), posters, signage , and tickets.
